Volunteering at the core of our action

Friday 5 June 2026

Behind every action we carry out are committed women and men who give their time, share their skills, and help create meaningful connections. Their presence is essential: it not only strengthens the support we provide, but also brings listening, trust, and encouragement to the people we welcome.

Every week, our volunteers dedicate themselves with generosity to those we support. Thanks to them, children receive help with their schooling, adults make progress in learning languages, administrative procedures become more accessible, and moments of social interaction and recreation come to life within our structures.

In numbers:

  • 112 volunteers engaged alongside us
  • 16 different nationalities
  • Ages ranging from 18 to 82
  • Nearly 14,000 people supported in 2025 thanks to them

A look back at our volunteers’ celebration

We had the pleasure of coming together last June for our annual volunteers’ celebration — a warm and friendly moment to thank each and every one for their valuable commitment.

On this occasion, an introductory training in mental health first aid, “Taking care of yourself, taking care of others,” was also offered. This session provided an opportunity to strengthen our volunteers’ skills and better equip them to face the realities on the ground.

As a token of our appreciation, each volunteer received a handmade keychain created at Creamisu. This artistic space run by Hëllef um Terrain offers people in vulnerable or isolated situations a supportive environment where they can express themselves, develop their talents, and build self-confidence through creative activities.

Beyond the object itself, this gesture reflected the values of solidarity, sharing, and commitment that drive both the Creamisu participants and our volunteers. A simple yet meaningful way to thank those who, through their presence and dedication, contribute every day to improving the lives of the people we support.

The event continued with a buffet prepared and served by the kitchen team of Centre Jean XXIII and beneficiaries of Hëllef um Terrain engaged in professional integration, showcasing their skills and journeys.

To all our volunteers, a heartfelt thank you. You are at the heart of everything we do.
