With the support of HUT - Hëllef um Terrain staff, Saleh Ahmad, a former refugee shelter resident and then tenant of the Department Logement pour l'Inclusion sociale, and his wife opened the fast food restaurant of the international franchise EAT (East African Taste) in mid-December. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Eritrean specialities, including the traditional coffee, but not only that. The choice is varied and the prices are attractive.
The help provided by the staff of HUT - Hëllef um Terrain included assistance with administrative matters, particularly with obtaining the franchise. Saleh Ahmad is convinced that without this support, he would not have been able to launch his business. At the same time, since arriving in Luxembourg, Saleh Ahmad has built up a significant background that will be of great help to him in ensuring the success of his business. With a perfect command of French, which he began learning the day after his arrival in Luxembourg, he worked for more than five years in the fast-food sector in Luxembourg, learning all the tricks of the trade and becoming a reference for the company that employed him.
Currently, Bertrand Dauplais, a graduate educator and agent for professional integration in the Department Logement pour l'Inclusion sociale, assists around fifty residents in their job search, as well as a few, more rare, in launching their commercial activity.
Don't hesitate to take a gourmet break at the EAT restaurant, whether for lunch or dinner, on your own, with friends or family. The restaurant is located at 36, avenue de la Gare in Esch/Alzette.
