"Le Courage" opened its doors in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie in late November 2016. Ever since then, it has welcomed people who live on the streets.
"Le Courage" gives them the opportunity to retreat for a few hours during the day to a safe space where there is no pressure, and where they can bring their companion animals.
They can take a shower or wash their clothes there. Soup is served in the evening. Water, coffee and sandwiches are offered during the day. Visitors are also allowed to bring wine and beer for their own consumption.
"Low-threshold" approach
The social bar operates with a "low-threshold" approach. People using this facility only have to meet minimal requirements: they are simply asked to refrain from violence and respect others. The crucial thing is that they are safe, can rest and can ask for help if they want it.
"Le Courage" is run under an agreement with the City of Luxembourg, and it is open seven days a week from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm. It is located at 15, Dernier Sol, Luxembourg.
"Le Courage" is a joint initiative with the City of Luxembourg.
