Volunteers: facilitators for integration

Friday 27 June 2025

Last week, HUT - Hëllef um Terrain invited its volunteers to a reception to thank them for their commitment.

The reception was preceded by an introductory training session on compassionate care given by the director of Bientraitance asbl, Virginie Stevens. The training was very much appreciated by the volunteers who, at HUT - Hëllef um Terrain, are for the most part in the field, in direct contact with the beneficiaries, and therefore need to be as well-equipped as possible to deal with any difficulties they may encounter.
At present, around one hundred volunteers actively support HUT - Hëllef um Terrain. They take on a wide range of tasks, including homework help, administrative support, language classes, conversation tables, job-search support and the organisation of creative workshops. Some choose to work with people who are homeless or living in precarious conditions, while others decide to help refugees and migrants. Whatever the target group they decide to help, all are aware of their crucial role as facilitators, enabling the people they help to integrate or reintegrate into our society.

HUT - HËLLEF UM TERRAIN HAS BECOME A MEMBER OF THE AGENCE DU BÉNÉVOLAT

For HUT - Hëllef um Terrain, this support is essential. As soon as it was set up, HUT - Hëllef um Terrain applied for membership of the Agence du Bénévolat with the aim of promoting volunteering and its essential role in the integration of marginalised people. Through volunteering, the people that HUT - Hëllef um Terrain supports on a daily basis can find valuable support and opportunities to fully integrate into our society. HUT - Hëllef um Terrain became a member of the Agence du Bénévolat a few weeks ago.

Anyone wishing to get involved with HUT - Hëllef um Terrain as a volunteer will find the missions and contact details at www.hut.lu/benevolat.

ONCE AGAIN, A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR COMMITMENT!
